June 24, 2022: The hiked the Balmoral Trailhead to the lookout halfway to White Lake, and back to our vehicles again.
June 17, 2022: We hiked Scatchard Mountain to see the view. I expect the whole hillside to be lupins in bloom. Because of the recent rainfalls, sudden slides, etc., we did not hike the switchbacks, instead we drove up the mountain on the road and then cut in on level ground.
June 10, 2022: I am sorry, I cannot hike this day; I need to cancel this hike.
June 3, 2022: To hike from the Rafters Parking lot along the Adams River to the bench, where we will have our lunch (8k round trip) and for those who wish, to hike all the way to Gold Creek. It’s a lovely flat trail without much for hills that’s a total of approximately 16k.
May 27, 2022: We’ll hike a shortened version of Reinekker Creek from the trail that leaves at Herald Provincial Park parking lot and comes down the other side. We’ll finish off by visiting Margaret Falls.
May 20, 2022: Are you planning to hike this day? It’s terrible hiking weather! They are promising thunderstorms and lightening, CANCELLED, Sorry.
May 13, 2022: CANCELLED FOR TODAY, MY APOLOGIES. If you came hiking and nobody else showed up, let me know. I apologize for not being able to make it today.
May 6, 2022 We will hike along the Adams River from the Rafters parking lot to The Bench. We will meet in the LOWER level parking lot at Shuswap Lake Estates (see the google map) at 10:30 in the morning to organize ourselves.
April 29, 2022: We will hike the Upper Flume this day. We meet at Shuswap Lake Estates parking lot at 10:30 in the morning. If you are planning to meet us at the trailhead, we will get there approximately half an hour later. Bring a lunch, we will eat on the trail and those who wish to continue and hike the Lower Flume as well, will have time before dinner to do so.
April 22, 2022: We will hike the same hike, same times, that we hiked on April 1st, see below.
April 15, 2022: This is Good Friday and we will cancel the hike this day.
April 8, 2022: We plan to hike along the Adams River from the Rafters parking lot to The Gorge. We will meet in the LOWER level parking lot at Shuswap Lake Estates (see the google map) at 1:30 in the afternoon to organize ourselves. It is positioned off of Golf Course Drive, across the street from Blind Bay Marketplace and Centennial Drive. Know that we’ve been asked to park in the very farthest corner away from the building (this means tuck your vehicle right into the very end please. If you have trouble finding the meeting place, just stop beside the Chinese food place and look across the road, and up. This is where we meet. If you wish to take your own car instead of carpooling, that’s perfectly understandable. If you are coming from the North Shore, or Chase, you will probably want to meet us there about 25 minutes later in the Adams River Rafters Pullout parking lot (see this google map). Our rule of thumb is, if you arrive late, sorry but we will start without you.
April 1, 2022: We will meet at 1:00 pm to hike the trails along the Lower Adams River. We’ll walk first to the bridge, turn around go back past the parking lot and then onward to the mouth of the river. If you are coming from the North Shore, or Chase, you will probably want to meet us there in that parking lot. We’ll park in the main parking lot at Tsútswecw (Roderick Haig-Brown) Provincial Park (see this google map), near that log building where people go to watch the Salmon Run. It’s approximately a 20 minute drive from Shuswap Lake Estates. Our rule of thumb is, if you arrive late, sorry but we will start without you.
