The Writers’ Nook is a place where we, as a group, can provide a safe and positive environment in which to encourage one another and hone our own writing skills.
We will end with Poetry
And so the time has come to say good-bye to one another; I trust we will meet again in the Fall. This, our last meeting before the summer will end on one of the most beautiful notes possible — that of poetry — and in talking of ways whereby we can create it, each in our own way.
The form of art that is Poetry has been around for decades. It has cried out in heartache, evolved into lyrical verse, and burst into music and song. Poems have a way of making us feel things in life; feelings of love and hate, and the decadent verse that sings of beauty in nature.
This meeting will be held via zoom at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 Blind Bay Time (aka Vancouver Time). If you would like to join our group, please contact us. Your first meeting is free.
Your Challenge
Your challenge over these summer months is three-fold and repetitive from challenges of other meetings:
- As last summer, attempt to write one haiku a day, or one a week;
- As provided to us by Kevin Gooden at our April 6th meeting, set up a twitter account and start using it. We hope that you will share some of your 280 character stories here with us, OR
- Just keep writing. Feel free to submit some of your work to us periodically over the summer months, I will publish it into our safe-space.
Writing is a journey. May you travel that road well and find success in your travels this summer.
