I Never Joke About That

I made a run to the hardware store today
It’s about as busy in town as it usually is
And outside of the odd person wearing a mask,
Businesses for those that are open seems usual.
I can see a lot of people relaxing the six foot rule
Three or four seem ok to some
Hand sanitizer, if they have it, is at the door.
Anyway,
I’m keeping the six foot rule and hand washing too.
One of the cashiers said in reply to someone
Going on and making a joke about the lockdown,
I have people in my family who are at risk from this virus
And
I never joke about that
